How do you travel?

Third Coast Stamps:  Dagmar’s ride – FT-346-J, Highland pony  CO-104-G, Old oak tree LG- CM-212-S, Long grass CH-097-CC, Grossy mound MY-059-D, Patch of grass CH-089-FF, Life is a journey MO-040-D

My personal favorites are trains, but another means of traveling has been intriguing me for a good time now. Before the trains, cars and even zeppelins, people would travel on foot or – the more fortunate ones - on horseback or in a carriage. Oh boy! You had a horse, you had a treasure! Lumbering, harvesting, and all that hard agricultural work required a horse, but even kings and queens needed them to get from point A to point B. And how about the Pony Express? Or the pioneers, crossing vast empty lands?

And a horse is more than a simple means of traveling, of course. It is a companion. It is a very intelligent animal, and when you share your life’s path with it, a special connection  between you two is born. Life is a journey, and it’s good to have reliable friend on that road.

Hmm, maybe I should return my next trip’s train tickets and ask if they’ve got any long distance horses available…

So very true Liisa! We just might see the return of the trusty steed in the future with the price of gas and dwindling resources! I love horses and your scene is beautiful!!
