Cozy Treehome DT-135-R
scene by Rebecca Stiles
Perfect for those hot summer days is a shady tree house complete with swing! The treehome stamp could be used with lots of different fun characters: fairies, brownies, funny bugs, etc. I chose to add some little girl stamps and used my stamp positioner to add them in just the right spots.
Girl pushing the swing is from an old company called Stamp Clinic and the other two girls are from an unknown source. Scene is colored with markers, pencils, chalks and gel pen.

Fairy Daisy Dance
Today I thought it would be fun to share a card I made using the
"Fairy Flower Picker" (VB-024-J).
Sadly it's far too hot and dry here in Indiana for my daisies to bloom this year
so I'm settling for this darling little fairy picking a daisy.
She has been colored with Distress Markers. I added some metallic copper highlights to her beautiful wings and the background is made with alcohol Inks and Distress Stickles.
Hope you all are enjoying the summer
despite the unusual weather spread across the country.

Delbert the Patriot
Hi Everyone! Hope you week is starting out well! Major rain yesterday and today in Florida. Hope it stops soon or I'm gonna have to get the fins and snorkel out!
In celebration of the upcoming 4th of July Holiday, I thought for my post today, I would use Delbert the Patriot (BD-003-M). I do love his little flag! The paper I used is from a company called Stemma. I popped Delbert up with some popup-dots to make him look more dimensional. The grass are die cuts from Jolee. Hope everyone has a great upcoming 4th and thanks for stopping by our blog!

Seeking Guest Designers
Do you love Third Coast’s stamps? Are you able to submit creations digitally? Do you consider yourself to be organized and able to work under deadlines? Then being a Third Coast Coterie Guest Designer may be for you!
Your rewards will be free stamps to create with, having your work published on the Third Coast Coterie’s blog, participating with a great team and the possibility of becoming a full-time Coterie member in 2013. If you think a guest designer position is for you, and you’d like to be considered for a guest position in 2012, please send three of your best projects to anesha@thirdcoastcc.com by 14th July 2012.
Come hither, Steampunk!
All images from Third Coast: Clouds & Hills; FA-194-C, Naila Reaching; FT-113-G, Grassy Mound; MY-059-D, Holiday Bunny (partial); VB-227-N, Patch of Grass CH-089-FF; Steampunk Dirigible, KG-038-J.
Steampunk is here to stay! Our own Third Coast recently released a whole patch of them. Anyone who’s felt stuck in a rut lately can now use mechanical help to get on the roll again!
Remember when the first Steampunk images got to the market? Some people went crazy about them immediately, others warmed up slowly, and some still are not sure whether to go with the flow or not, but one thing is certain: these images will add punk to your stamping, bringing it to a new level. A little steam will go along way, in this case, and this new dimension can be very surprising!

Naughty Miss Priss!
Miss Priss, (CO-128-J) from Third Coast's p. 29 of the Early Spring 2008 catalog, is beautiful, sassy, and very mischievous.

Ms. Priss was colored with Copic markers in shades of warm gray and RV11.
The birdcage is an Odd Bird Planet stamp and was colored with Copic markers. The birdcage and Ms. Priss were masked with Winsor & Newton liquid mask. The feather, from an old Stampin' Up set, was repeatedly stamped in the cage and around Ms. Priss. They were colored (guess what colorant?) and also masked. Then I airbrushed the background and peeled up the mask. I added Glaze pen to the cage. I resisted adding little red drops around the cage. I figured that would be overkill. (pun intended).
The patterned papers are all from a My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 6x6 pad. Both Pumice Stone & Old Paper Distress inks were sponged on all edges as I can't abide white edges.
Matte Accents was used to adhere patterned paper to the clear buttons. Then I listened to Jodi's voice in my head and threaded the buttons with pink thread.
I haven't decided on a sentiment yet, so that will come later when it's actually sent to someone!

Solstice Greetings
I can't believe how fast the Spring has just flown by! I'm happy to report that we are having fabulous weather in my little part of the world (Halifax, Nova Scotia). I hope you are too! With the solstice just ahead, I wanted to extend my greetings to everyone and wish you a very happy summer. To that end, I made a Solstice ATC to share with you today!
I was totally stoked to find that the words from the Solstice Greetings stamp fit perfectly as a "tattoo" on butterfly mermaid, Naida! I coloured and stamped each word separately with my Tombow markers and used a stamp positioner to get them in just the right location. I invite you to drop by my blog and share how you are celebrating the changing of the seasons!
Thank you for dropping by,
Val :)

Treasure Chest
I love using the fairy tale stamps to create little story scenes, and what better way to welcome the warm summer days than to find a treasure chest full of jewels and gold!
Three stamps were used: Gentle Meg FT-354-C; Open Chest CH-471-E; and Rocky Shore FA-239-K.
Meg was stamped first onto the cardstock and then masked. Using a stamp positioner, the chest was added next. I put a piece of transparent tape over the bottom edge of the inked chest stamp so it would not be stamped, thus leaving an edge that appears to be buried in the sand. Next, both Meg and the chest were masked, and using the stamp positioner again, the rocky beach was added.
I used a fine line pen to add the jewels, the "sand" dots and lines around the chest, and the distant ocean horizon. The piece was colored with pencils, markers, gel pens, gold pen, and chalks.
Enjoy!

Flutter by Parade
Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!
I hope you're all having a wonderful day.
Today I wanted to share a card I made using some of 3C's whimsical silhouette stamps!
I just love the little pixie parade and thought it would pair up nicely with the butterfly rider....
3C Stamps - Butterfly Ride FA-280-DD & Pipers Parade FA-281-G
I created the burst of color in the center by tearing a rough rectangle in a scrap piece of paper; placing this paper over my card panel, adding Distress Ink with my Ink Blending Tool ~ spritz with water and dab away the excess water. I then stamped using Archival Ink & added Stickles highlights.
Have an inky day!!!

Life's A Beach
Hi Everyone! Hope everyone is having a great summer so far. I'm in the middle of a ton of projects, but don't have any of them quite completed yet! I have fallen into the "too many things I want to do, not enough time" mode. I hope to have a lot of new stuff finished up soon to share. I made this wall hanger a couple of weeks ago, and since there is nothing I would like better then being out on the beach right now, I thought I would share it with everyone. I used real shells and a lot of stickers (mostly Jolee's) and of course two awesome mermaid stamps from Third Coast. Unfortunately, I don't remember the maker of the beach chair stamp I used for the background behind my top posing mermaid.
Hope everyone has a great summer!

TAKE THE CHALLENGE - MAKE TIME
Hello
readers, hello fellow Creative Coterie members :) I’m one of the new kids on
the.. well, blog, and here I go with my first post!
Used stamps: solid single gear (CO-276-EE), stopwatch (FA- 5112-G), Margaret Mechanic (VB-401-J)
We all know
how hard it is sometimes to make time not only for the things we’d like to do,
but also simply for the stuff that must be done in order for our daily lives to be able to roll on as
needed. The responsibilities, the
family logistics, the time spent
commuting to work or study… There are
days I wish I were able to push on a button or knock out a screw on the great
galactic clockwork, and simply stop
time!
Then again,
if I could stop time, I’d probably
give in to temptation and keep it stopped forever – or at least until the end
of the book I’m reading. Or until my ink pads run dry. Or until I run out of
yarn. Or until Bridget is back Mr. Darcy’s arms. Or… Oh boy! Where’s my toolkit, I must have a
wrench in there somewhere!
Enjoy your day!

Imagine, Wonder, Time

The landscape is composed of layered striped patterned paper adhered to a matching pattern from the same My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose Hazel 6x6 pad. This was placed into my often-used Timeworks Cuttlebug folder for a ride through my Big Kick. When it came out, I sponged both Weathered Wood and Peacock Feathers Distress ink over the high spots of the embossing, then edged it using Black Soot Distress ink.
The Clockworks-Dark (FA-519-I) stamp from page 14 of the new catalog was stamped onto pale yellow paper using Wild Honey Distress Ink. This was die cut using a Pinked Circle Nestabilities, then kept in the die so I could use a great new tool, Ranger’s Inkssentials Craft Nibs & Nib Holder, to add more Distress Ink into the edgy bits. This piece was then cut in half and slid under the top most "hill".
Clouds were cut from checkered vellum using Memory Box' Clouds and strewn about the sky.
The Victorian Boot (FA-516-I) stamp from page 10. was stamped using Onyx Black VersaFine ink, heat set, then colored with Copic markers. The buttons were highlighted with Glaze pen to give them some dimension and shine. Small Grungeboard wings were painted with a silver Adirondack Paint Dabber, which also added some texture. They were layered and then the boot was added using a double layer of dimensional foam.
Thanks for visiting today!
